It was seriously cold on the Tuesday night ride this week.. I suffered terribly from the cold – it affected my hill climbing performance (that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!)
Alan has crafted a superb report of the evenings adventure and you can read it fully over on his blog.
If you’re in a position to be able to donate to Alan’s just giving page then please do so, he’s riding the London Prudential 100 challenge on behalf of the Alzheimers Research UK.
The Tuesday evening ride has a reputation for pain, it’s where you go to get fit or die trying..
Alan describe’s last Tuesdays ride with true passion and after reading his blog post you understand why his writing style is so descriptive – Alan visited that World of pain and bought a stick of rock as memorabilia!
Read about the antics over on Alan’s superb blog and please think about supporting Alan as he raises funds for Alzheimers Research UK.
Tuesday nights are ride night for the Cottingham Road Club, there are a few intrepid members who keep this tradition up as long as the roads are ice free.
Last Tuesday (17th – Feb) was just such an evening – a small bunch of four met at the Olive Garden in Cottingham for 6:15pm and set out on a route that was made up on the night.
Tuesday nights are known throughout the club as hard fast rides, you turn up knowing your going to end up out of breath and feeling that you’ve had a workout – they’re there for gaining and keeping fitness. That’s not saying anyone will be left behind, no – you’re just expected to work hard, very hard!
A good write up of just how much fun can be had from hard effort is over on Alan’s web page – , do give it a visit and feel free to pop along to the next Tuesday night adventure.
Alan is a Cottingham Road Club member who’s training for the 2015 Prudential Ride London 100 which he is riding to raise money for Alzheimers research, please think about sponsoring Alan via his Just Giving Page.
